Our Orlando housing market continues its streak of consistent growth, with January sales seeing an increase of 16% over January 2019. There were over 2,270 homes sold last month, compared to 2019’s 1,950 sales, according to the newest stats from the Orlando Regional Realtor Association.

The overall median price jumped almost 8% over last year’s reporting. The median price of Orlando homes sold in January was $245,000, up from $227,000 in January of last year. 

If you take a look at the individual county breakdown, Lake County’s sales were up 9.2% compared to January 2019. A strong sign for the growth of our increasingly popular area. One category in particular saw a huge increase in sales. Townhomes/Villas saw an 8% increase in median price, but offered a staggering 37% increase in sales in January.

Additional January Stats: 

• Overall Inventory decreased 14.7% when compared to last year’s period. 
• First-time homebuyers affordability index increased to 99.81% from 96.52% last month
• Orlando housing affordability index for January is 140.36, up from 135.73% last month. 
• Pending sales in January are up 7.8% compared to January of last year and are up 25.9% compared to last month.
