What Our Co-Founder Said on Colombian National Television About Inflated Promises

Zenodro Homes Co-Founder & CEO Lusant Ordoñez was invited onto Cámara Abierta, a program produced by Colombia's Chamber of Representatives, for an extended conversation about Central Florida development and what international families should understand before buying property in the United States. Click here to watch it now.

Most of the interview covered ground you would expect from a builder: how Central Florida is growing, why families from outside the U.S. keep looking here, what the region's economy is built on beyond tourism.

But the part worth writing down was a single, unprompted correction.

"Nobody becomes a millionaire in a year"

Asked about the promises circulating in the market, Lusant pushed back on his own industry. Buyers, he said, are shown fantasies — absurd projected returns, get-rich timelines, numbers presented with a confidence nobody has earned. His view was blunt: it does not serve buyers, and it does not serve developers, for anyone to promote that.

That is not a marketing line. It is a builder, on national television in a buyer's home country, declining to make the pitch that would have been easiest to make.

Why this matters if you are buying from another country

If you are purchasing a home in Florida from Bogotá, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, or Santiago, you are being asked to trust people you have not met, in a legal system that is not yours, in a language that may not be your first.

In that position, the most dangerous person you can meet is not the one who tells you too little. It is the one who tells you exactly what you want to hear.

A builder who will not overpromise on the phone is a builder who is less likely to surprise you at the closing table. The tone of the sales conversation is a preview of the tone of the transaction.

What we put in writing instead

We would rather be specific about what we actually control:

  • Concrete block construction with spray foam insulation — how the home is built, not how it is described.
  • No CDD fees, no builder fees, and no upgrade tiers. The finish package is standard, not a menu that grows after you sign.
  • No rental restrictions and no mandatory property management. You decide how your home is used.
  • Premium finishes included as standard — European cabinetry, quartz countertops, Samsung appliances, Moen fixtures, porcelain tile, and floor-to-ceiling tile in the bathrooms.
  • Documentation in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, so no one in your family is reading a summary of a contract they cannot check themselves.
  • Founders on site. Lusant and Mariher Ordoñez are present at the community, not names on a corporate page.

Twenty years. More than 500 homes delivered in Florida. Two floor plans at Tranquility at Clermont — the Orel and the Asher — that you can walk through rather than imagine.

Come verify it

We would rather you check us than believe us. Questions about returns, taxes, or immigration belong with your own attorney and accountant, and we will tell you that every time you ask. Questions about how the home is built, what is included, who is accountable, and what happens at each stage of the process — those are ours to answer, in writing, in your language.
