Rather than falling into the typical slowdown as we near the holidays, the Orlando housing market has actually demonstrated increases in home sales and prices this past month that are expected to continue into November. Specifically, there was over 30% increase in sales this October versus last October. According to the Orlando Regional Realtor Association there were 3,634 homes sold last month, compared to the 2,899 sales in October 2019. 

The overall median price has increased 12.5% over last year’s reporting. The median price of Orlando homes sold in October is $269,950, which increased from $240,000 last October. 

A strong sign for the growth of our increasingly popular area, especially during the time of year when sales are expected to slow down. One category of the Orlando housing market in particular saw a major increase in sales. Single-family homes saw a 10% increase in median price, but offered a staggering 28.9% increase in sales in October.

Additional October Stats:

• Overall inventory for single-family homes decreased 37% when compared to last year’s period.
• The average interest rate for October is 2.72%, while mortgage rates continue to decline.
• As the year closes, pending sales in October are up 16% compared to October of last year.
